Didn't know what to put this, but I think it comes under entertainment really. So, expressions. There are a few I use on a regular basis. "Gordon Bennett!" for example. If you haven't heard of that...it's basically an exclamation of surprise or shock. For example "Oh Gordon Bennett, what a mess!" I also use "plough/ploughing/ploughed his own furrow" a lot, which I mainly use in association with football and rugby. Basically means the player is trying to do it on his own, usually under difficult circumstances, like he's completely swamped by opponents and he's trying to literally plough his way through them. For example "Look at Beckford trying to plough his own furrow." Hit me with some good ones that I could use guys

Well, I used to say to my ex.... I apologize for shouting you, but I donĀ“t apologize for the contents of our discussion, because it is the truth. My ex fumed up for that.

Australians like to use the word 'cunt' in expressions. Many people find it offensive, but it is kind of a term of endearment here. For example, if someone came into a bit of luck one might say, "You fucking lucky cunt!". Don't use it if people you know find it offensive though. The older generations tend to.

Yeh my brother is a "cunt" fan. I use it occasionally, but loads of British girls find the word totally vile, so I don't use it around them, just the lads. In fact...girls find cunt, pussy and all slang terms for that particular body part quite offensive. Which is why I call my best girl friend a vagina face .

How delightfully fruity. I downloaded a rather funny Ricky Gervais podcast today (also including Steve Merchant and Karl Pilkington) discussing England and the English culture. Can remember if English expressions was raised though.

Their podcasts are great. I had them all on my Macbook until the hard disk decided to give up.

I don't know. He sounds legitimately stupid.

Yeh, I think it initially started on their radio show as a genuine guy and his odd mind, but it has progressed into a wee bit of fakery. But I think the ideas are still real. It's just the reasoning that seems a little dodgy.

His voice makes him sound quite daft as well. It just sounds so bland and what not.
